Planning and Coordinating
Task Force |
|
|
On May 2, 2003, the Planning and
Coordinating Task Force met at City Hall in Milpitas, California, to
hear presentations by the Silicon Valley
Joint Venture initiative and the successful effort of 30 local
jurisdictions to streamline their building regulatory systems.
The Task Force began work on several National Alliance
Action Agenda deliverables which include development and
distribution of model streamlining processes, and the business case
for streamlining and grant award criteria for federally-funded
streamlining grants. (View
draft minutes.)
Comprised of Alliance members from federal, state, and local governments and representatives from the construction community, the purpose of this task force is to review and find solutions to the political and economic barriers to the effective application of information technology to streamline the nation’s building regulatory process. Planning and Coordinating Task Force MISSION STATEMENT (as ADOPTED at the March 28, 2002 Meeting in Washington, DC):

|
PLANNING AND COORDINATING TASK FORCE meeting at the Council for Excellence in Government on March 28 drafted their work agenda for the coming year, reviewed a funding proposal for the Alliance and received a demonstration of one of several software/intermediate ware systems now providing information to first responders to natural and manmade disasters. The Rapid Responder product demonstrated at the March meeting has been in the marketplace for sometime, growing out of feedback from the first responder community in the wake of the Columbine High School tragedy. Access to information on that program and other software being used by building regulatory personnel can be found by going to the "Building Regulatory Software Listing" portion of this website. |
