ALLIANCE STREAMLINING MODELS PRESENTED. Tom Joachim, Minnesota Commissioner for the Industrialized Modular Buildings Commission (at podium), described the work being done by that interstate compact to lessen the oversight costs for commercial and residential modular buildings. Other models presented included several applications of information technology to the building regulatory process in Louisville, in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and in Arlington County, Virginia. HOW THE NFPA AND ICC BUILDING CODES ADDRESS DIFFERENT ISSUES was the focus of a special panel session moderated by Tom Joachim (at podium). NCSBCS members generated nine questions to which representatives from the National Fire Protection Association and the International Code Council took turns responding. |
