Gene Rowland State Achievement Award

This award is presented to the state that, over the course of the conference year, takes the greatest number of legislative, executive, or administrative actions towards fulfilling the NCSBCS 13 Current Objectives (as adopted by the delegates in September 1985).

This award will be given to both the Delegate and Governor of the recognized state.

            Minimum Criteria

            To be eligible, a state must:

1.                  Have developed, enacted, or administered new programs in the building codes and public safety area that work toward fulfilling at least two of the 13 objectives.

2.                  Currently be represented in NCSBCS through an active dues paying state delegate member (e.g., in the last two (2) years, has participated in 50 % of NCSBCS regional and annual meetings).

 

Charles Mahaffey Award

This award will be presented to the company, organization, or government agence which over the course of a conference year makes the greatest contribution towards working with the states through NCSBCS to fulfill the NCSBCS 13 Current Objectives.

The award will be given to Chairman, President, or top Executive of a company and  to the NCSBCS Organizational, Associate, or Affiliate member that from that company.

            Minimum Criteria

1.                  Must be an active Organizational, Associate, or Affiliate member of NCSBCS for at least two (2) years.

2.                  Must have participated in and actively supported the implementation within the states or at the national level of at least two (2) of the 13 Current Objective.

 

President’s Award

            Minimum Criteria

1.                  The nominee must “have been or currently be” an active state delegate or state member as defined in the NCSBCS Bylaws.

2.                  The nominee must have served as a member of one or more committees of NCSBCS for at least three years or served as committee chairperson for at least one full year.

3.                  The nominee must have exercised outstanding leadership or made significant contributions in the overall goals and objectives of the conference.

4.                  The nominee must have displayed active participation in and enhanced the building codes and standards profession through actual participation and contributions to other national and state professional organizations.

 

Outstanding Committee Chairman Award

This award will be presented to the Committee Chairman from one of our three standing committees who exhibits superior leadership and exceptional service to NCSBCS over the course of the Conference year.

            Minimum Criteria

1.                  Demonstrated a consistent ability to unify and coordinate the efforts and objectives of the committee and exhibited high leadership potential.

2.                  Readily accepted responsibility, fostered creativity and kept the committee on the move during the course of the year.

3.                  Successfully identified objectives of committee and worked actively to support and accomplish these objectives.
