NCSBCS and the Alliance are pleased to host on this website the following technical materials that were developed for the Summit:
September 24, 2003, invited representatives from the software, building regulatory and construction communities will assemble in New York City to participate in a summit meeting to speed the development of technologies and processes that can be used to streamline the nation’s building regulatory process through interoperability.
The summit is co-sponsored by the National Alliance for Building Regulatory Reform in the Digital Age, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), FIATECH, NCSBCS, New York City Department of Buildings and the States of New York and New Jersey.
As a Summit registrant, an Alliance or NCSBCS/AMCBO member or as a visitor to this website, these mateirals are available for you to download or review on line. Please note that those work products produced for the Summit under funding from the National Institute of Standards and Technology have been so labeled as such and consequently those documents are in the public domain.

The purpose of the Summit is to: Speed the development of technologies and requirements needed to advance the creation of a state-of-the-art integrated and interoperable building regulatory system by brining together software industry, building regulatory officials and the construction industry to:
Present and define an interoperability statement that can be included in government procurements of hardware and software used for codes administration and enforcement
Discuss common actions that can be taken by participants to speed the use of interoperable hardware and software by state and local governments.
